give to EQUIP

Would you be willing to support KISC EQUIP as it supports teachers through small-group training, model teaching, practical demonstrations, classroom observations, and more?

Our primary costs are those involved in directly running the teacher training programme, however your funds may be used towards our various other projects.

Your generous donations may provide scholarships for students in a country where 38% of children do not complete primary school. They may also provide a classroom library to encourage the next generation of students to have a love for reading and to be a lifelong learner. Funds may support the kitchen garden project which aims to provide a fun and practical learning environment in which students can learn basic farming/gardening skills; the fruits of which are used to feed the school community.

At EQUIP we try and respond appropriately to the needs of our schools. Therefore, at times we have supported the painting of our partner school classrooms, the installation of a water tank and various repairs after the 2015 earthquake.

Every penny counts and we thank you for your generous support.

We are always looking for teachers with more than four years' experience, and preferably a relevant Master’s degree, to help train teachers in local and rural Nepali schools. Teacher trainers may be based in Kathmandu and travel out to the project areas, or they may live in a rural area and work with the local schools. We are committed to hiring mainly Nepali teacher trainers as they provide the role models to better connect with local teachers and students.

Applicants need to be flexible, willing to learn, patient, kind, and servant hearted. Please see the recruitment page for the current volunteering opportunities.

All expatriate staff are expected to work as volunteers and are usually expected to be paid through their sending organization.
A minimum two year commitment is preferred.

Expatriate staff are also expected to attend a Nepali language and culture orientation at KISC depending on the length of service intended.

Service Trips

KISC EQUIP partner schools have been regularly blessed by mission teams who come for short-term ‘learning and service’ projects. In the past teams have painted classrooms and led extra-curricular programs.
