HDCS CHILD SAFEGUARDING POLICY
Introduction
Human Development and Community Services (HDCS) is a non-profit service-oriented organisation working in Nepal through three primary sectors: health, education and community development.
A child safeguarding policy provides a framework of guidelines which the members of the organisation or anyone in relation to the organisation are required to follow in order to protect children from harm or abuse and help create a child friendly environment. KISC operates under the overarching Child Safeguarding Policy of HDCS. KISC has a supplementary appendix that applies the HDCS Policy specifically to the operation of KISC. This appendix may be found here. KISC have developed procedures to implement the HDCS Policy and KISC Appendix. These can be found here.
As part of the headship of HDCS, KISC is a member of the Child Safety and Protection Network, an international agency which provides guidance and training to organisations regarding child safeguarding.
Reporting Safeguarding Concerns
If you have a safeguarding concern regarding a KISC student or member of staff, report your concern here or directly to one of the Child Safeguarding Focal Personnel (CSFP) at KISC.
If you have any student safeguarding concerns, please go directly to the appropriate CSFP. If that CSFP is absent or an involved party, go to the School Leadership Team.
