KISC’s Mission
“…to provide training for teachers, in order to equip students and teachers
to positively impact their world.”
As KISC begins to work in the area of teacher training, its desire is to
support the government’s plans stated in the Tenth National Plan and the
Education for all by 2015 documents. Yet the main aim is to teach truths to
the teachers to enable them to improve the quality of education in Nepal.

So far we have set up a resource centre for teacher training and started
partnerships with other organisations also providing teacher training in
Nepal such as ICTHUS, Save the Children, Student Worldwide Programme (SPW)
and Global Action. We are in the process of organising a Nepali teacher’s
assistant for each primary class at KISC. The assistant will be trained to
international standards and then released to work in a local primary school.
We provide training for many local and rural schools covering thousands of
miles and training hundreds of teachers each year.
We have one member of staff working with Save the Children in the western
part of Nepal and Christine Stone (MBE) who has been in Nepal for the last
24 years heading up the KISC Teacher Training Programme based in Kathmandu.
