KISC Assessment Point Average Calculation

A=5 points, B=4 points, C=3 points, D=2 points, E=1 point. The US system of GPA’s (Grade Point Average) is out of 4 points, therefore we make our APA’s (Assessment Point Average) out of 4 and not 5.

To do this add up the total number of points a student achieves at the end of the four assessment sessions i.e. Term 1&2, in the Jan Exams, Term 3 and in the June Exams. Next divide the points total by the number of subjects taken and then divide by 1.25. This gives the students yearly APA.

NB: Grades 10 and 12 final exams are externally assessed through IGCSE’s and AS examinations set by the Cambridge International Examinations Centre in May/June each year. The results come out in the August of that year, certificates in October.
